The challenge

A PE-backed, $300M supply chain services company received about 10,000 vendor invoices a month. Six full-time employees opened them, sent them for approval and keyed them into the ERP. The work was slow, error-prone and grew in step with volume, a drag on margins as the business grew.

Our approach

We automated the whole process on Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, part of the Microsoft 365 platform the company already licensed, so no new software was needed. The workflow takes in each invoice, routes it to the right approver and posts it into the ERP.

The outcome

The automation replaced the work of six full-time roles and saves $400K a year. A process that depended on manual handoffs now runs the same way every time.
